Blogging Made Easy with Posterous and Google Reader

One of the big issues of running a blog is keeping the blog up to date with new content! It takes time.

So blogging shortcuts are always very useful.

Our strategy is to use Posterous and Google Reader (in conjunction with Google News and Google Alerts).

We use their RSS feeds in Google Reader after setting up searches for the appropriate news/ content in Google News and Google Alerts. So every day we have plenty of content to parse for ideas. Google Reader also allows you post content directly to Posterous – see  the Send To link at the bottom of the Reader content.

We setup a number of accounts with Posterous for various topical blogs, and then use original content in the Posterous sites to link back to our main sites and external reference sites.  Google appreciates this:  A good mix of content and useful hyperlinks. The best feature of Posterous is the ease with which we can email a post to our Posterous site. Tip – we use Gmail and have installed an add-on to allow adding images into the post (use Flickr for images:  http://www.flickr.com/search/advanced/ – and choose search within Creative Commons-licensed content).

We can create posts with minutes using this strategy. Good content and interesting posts with photos.

Real Estate SEO Guidelines

If you have real estate business online, you definitely want to make sure that you will be having a successful business. You can achieve such, if you start real estate SEO. Real estate SEO is the way of enhancing your real estate website for a greater search engine visibility. This article will focus on real estate SEO, so read on.

Image Gallery Management

If success is what you really want to achieve, then you have to bear this lesson in mind, readers always comes first and search engines the second.

Optimizing your website content is very important. When creating your page content, you have to make sure to create something that is valuable to your readers. You have to do content that is helpful, well-made content that is related to your products and services or subtopics. You can win half of the battle if you focus on giving our readers an appropriate and significant content.

It is also helpful on your search engines visibility if other websites will be linking with your website. As more and more websites link with your website the better, because if there are lot of websites who link with your website, there will be an increase with your link popularity.

When creating your content, do not put all of your key phrases on any set page, because that could be too much, the search engines will unable to determine the primary focus of your page. For greater results, it would be advisable that each page should have primary focus that will support the overall topic of your website.

Like for instance, if you’re overall topic of your real estate website is Florida real estate, then one of your pages should focus on buying condos in Florida real estate. If condo is one of your website specialties then you have to focus on that specific topic on one of your website pages. You can create content about it and can create a page title: ‘Buying Condos in Florida Real Estate’.

If you want to come up with topic ideas for your pages, all you have to do is revisit your list of key phrases. You have to choose your key phrases wisely, they will speak the content that you should do for your website. Then you have to make content to support each key phrase you have. You have to add articles to the pages of your real estate website. Article with about 300-500 words will allow you to combine your key phrases in natural way.

The page content should be the direct extension of your page’s title element, because the search engines compares the content of your web pages to the titles of your pages, and definitely, these two should match.

Like for example, if you have page about real estate market in Tampa, then ‘Views about Tampa Real Estate’, would be a good title. Just make sure that the title will match the body of the content of the page. In doing so, this would be good for the readers and for the search engines.

If you want to have a successful real estate business, real estate SEO could be helpful on your part. Just take some of your time and effort in optimizing your website content, in order to have a lot of readers and you will gain greater search engines visibility.

Google Loves Web 2.0 sites

Google falls in and out of love with Web 2.0 platforms. There was a big rush by spammers to use Squidoo and Hubpages. Google devalued them and both were forced to tidy up their act. Squidoo and Hubpages seem to be back in favour with big G. We believe the key is to providing real unique content on these platforms – go easy on the links. So with all the other platforms use with caution – good quality content and don’t spam the links. Hey, be responsible.

Wizard Marketing Tips with Twitter, TwitterFeed, Bit.ly and Ping.fm

Guest Author: Howard Farmer 1st for French Property

In an everchanging marketing environment, it is necessary to give clients or potential every opportunity to access our French Properties. If clients want to browse our website, use newsreaders, receive property alerts by email or use Twitter then we must provide the service. So naturally we are keen to provide the service:

Of course, we are always looking for shortcuts for producing the services so we have been able to use some great tools for our Twitter solution!

Obviously we need to have a twitter account: Twitter.com/1st4FrenchProp. But then we need to have content for Twitter. Can we automate this? Yes – like many twitter accounts we use our RSS feeds. At first, we were conscious that Twitter users like “What are you doing” tweets and were concerned that Property Alerts may not have a good uptake. Well 3000 followers later we should not have worried!

Does Twitter work for us? Well – simply yes! Consistently it is in Top 10 referrers to our website.

Twitter, TwitterFeed, Bit.ly and Ping.fm working Together

1. Get accounts at all 4 services

2. Find the Bit.ly API login / API key on the account page.

3. At Twitterfeed setup your Feed (your rss url); choose the Bit.ly service to shorten your urls and add API login / key

4. The feed will now be automatically added to Twitter

5. For even greater distribution, set up a TwitterFeed feed to Ping.fm (you do need to setup the distribution sites at Ping.fm – plenty to choose from!)

Results

You can monitor how many clicks through you get at the TwitterFeed Dashboard – see below:

feed1As you can see, the number of clicks are displayed. If we add 20 properties a day, that could be over 200 additional clickthrus per day.

Bit.ly Service

We like the bit.ly service as not only does it provide the url shortening service  but also tracks all the clickthrus and can you give you quite a lot of additonal information.

feed2

Great marketing information and feed-back for us and another service for clients to monitor our property portfolio.

Authority Loophole – Black Hat or what?

“What Would Happen If You Could Easily Obtain As Many Legitimate One-Way Links As You Wanted For FREE…

The marketing claims …

1. The software finds eligible sites based on your root keyword.

2. The sites it locates all use a common web script that can be easily and – believe it or not – ethically manipulated to place your link either sitewide, on the home page or on an otherwise highly visible page of the site.

3. You follow a very simple process that takes anywhere from 1- 5 minutes on each site.

4. Your link is automatically “placed” (prominently) on an authority site that would otherwise never link to you.

5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 indefinitely.

6. Build up rankings that you’d normally only see if you had a “Fortune 500″ SEO budgetand even then, you wouldn’t get links like these if you were promoting a commercial site…

Guess what the “common script” is? Commentators plugin.

The software can be used totally white hat but it is not using the “Loophole” that accompanies the marketing splurge.

What do you think???
