StumbleUpon Marketing – Traffic Machine
Another example of Web 2.0 marketing: Well, for one StumbleUpon can give you massive amounts of traffic quite instantly if you knew how to do it properly. Moreover, because it is relatively free to join, you can be sure that it is one of the best no cost methods for generating more visitors to your website.
Social networking sites such as Myspace, Facebook,Digg and StumbleUpon are all great sources of traffic and they are gaining popularity very, very quickly. Just to give you a brief overview a good introduction would be necessary so we can both get acquainted about StumbleUpon.
StumbleUpon was founded back in the year 2001 and started with the inspiration of 3 gentlemen. Namely, Geoff Smith, Garret Camp and last but not least Justin La France. In the very beginning all Garret would always say when it comes to StumbleUpon was that anyone could click on a button there and find some really neat stuff to feast on.
It went on to create history by getting a buyout from the world renowned – eBay. Here is how this site or tool basically works and I believe that you will get a lot out of this short explaination.
Getting Started With StumbleUpon
If you’re somewhat new to the concept on how it works then don’t fret it, we’re going to run through this quickly. Your objective with this tool is to be able to discover some interesting websites easily on your browser.
All you need to do is just to install the browser and set your preferences. After that, you can proceed to ‘Stumble’ onto different websites. Even when you ‘stumble’ on certain sites you can give your jurisdiction of what do you think about it.
Understanding How StumbleUpon Works
If you like the site then give it a thumbs up and your Stumble browser will be informed about your preferred profiles. It’s like an intelligent browser which will learn your browsing behaviour.
Likewise, if you give a thumbs down this will tell the Stumble browser that you don’t like that particular site and you won’t be getting sites similar to that. As you begin to browse and stumble onto more and more sites your browser will begin to understand in a deeper manner what you really like or dislike.
